Why are they not setting their marshmallows on fire??? Steven gets gifted with future vision and sees several outcomes of procrastinating and hanging out with Connie. Steven learns that sometimes when he makes the right choice he will still get exactly what he wants.
Who do you call when you need to organize your overfull garage? Amethyst!!! Both Amethyst and Greg were friends prior to the loss of Rose and display codependent tendencies in this episode. Steven maybe parentified?

Coach Steven’s Room

January 29, 2019 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

Rose’s room is where we start to see that Steven is still struggling to figure out his own identity. Steven is given room in the temple based on “his”/Rose’s gem. The room in the temple is a metaphor for not knowing where he belongs in either human or gem culture and since Steven is half human half gem the room reacts the same. This is the first episode we really see the severe jealousy of Pearl to Amethyst & Garnet’s fusion Sugilite. The fusion dance is very sexual in nature. Lion Party

December 23, 2018 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

In this episode we breakdown Lion 2: The Movie, and Beach Party! Here we discuss feelings of inadequacy and impostor syndrome with Connie. We also compare and contrast the lives of Steven and Connie and how both strive for what the other has. In Beach Party we examine the idea of collateral damage in both the SU universe and in a more realistic setting in our own lives. We also examine the benefits of games and how they can be used to bring people together and how they can be used therapeutically. Liger Millionaire

October 17, 2018 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

This episode we discuss episodes 9 and 10 of SU.  In Tiger Millionaire, we get to discuss family roles of the crystal gems further, as well as gender preferences/roles (briefly.)  A brief discussion of parentification in adolescents vs. parental figures as well as knowing your fan base with Steven as Tiger Millionaire.  Amethyst is finally able to be her authentic self to the other gems and see that they do accept her.

Steven’s lion did not have a lot of psychology in it, but we do discuss it and talk about rational vs irrational fear.
